"JAMP has proven to be one of the greatest blessings throughout my college and graduate career. With the help of the program, I not only felt confident in my pursuit of a career in medicine but I was also granted the resources to make that a reality."

How has JAMP helped you as you strive to achieve your goal of becoming a doctor?
JAMP has proven to be one of the greatest blessings throughout my college and graduate career. With the help of the program, I not only felt confident in my pursuit of a career in medicine but I was also granted the resources to make that a reality. The summer programs offered valuable learning opportunities, physician-mentoring/shadowing, and MCAT preparation that I may not have been afforded otherwise. A great financial burden was relieved by the JAMP, allowing me to be even more successful than I could have imagined otherwise.

An indirect effect of the JAMP is the community of fellow colleagues in the program. We share a camaraderie that is extremely valuable; I know that regardless of what schools we ended up attending, we are a widespread community of friends ready to help one another at a moment's notice. There is no way to adequately express the sincere gratitude I have for the JAMP program, the administration and legislators who fight for the program’s existence—my life is all the more successful because of it.

What aspect of JAMP has been most beneficial to you?
The JAMP is a praise-worthy program that is helping my dreams become a reality. Despite the obstacles some of us face in life, due to certain circumstances, financial disadvantage, etc., never let that get in the way of your goals. It’s programs like the JAMP that help bridge that gap and make those difficult goals even more feasible.
