Overall, JAMP has definitely deepened and focused my passion for medicine.
How has JAMP helped you as you strive to achieve your goal of becoming a doctor?
JAMP has provided some incredible experiences and so much valuable information that
has been a true motivation to pursue my dreams of being a physician! I think that
the friendships and professional relationships I have made have been the most valuable
aspect of the program thus far. I have definitely been encouraged and motivated by
meeting other students that are passionate about medicine!
What advice would you like to offer current or future JAMP students?
I would encourage future JAMP students to make the most of the opportunity to meet
like-minded individuals that can be a support system when things get rough! Also,
I would say to keep an open mind as you experience the JAMP internships, and do some
soul-searching about your passion for medicine.
What aspect of JAMP has been most beneficial to you?
Overall, JAMP has definitely deepened and focused my passion for medicine. Remember,
what you put in the program is what you will get back. Especially on the MCAT prep,
study hard and take full advantage of the amazing opportunity JAMP gives!
About Lincoln:
I grew up in a rural area and spent a lot of time in my mother’s clinic. I saw the
way that she was able to change lives through medicine, and I felt a deep desire to
do the same. My experiences in college, shadowing local rural physicians, and in JAMP
have continued to motivate me towards my goal of serving underserved communities through
medicine. I am currently studying biology at Texas A&M University - Commerce, and
I live on our family farm outside Greenville, TX.
